The solution to launching and retrieving boats safely

Trailer Winch Strap / Ko-nect Assembly
Model 2007 Winch Strap / Ko-nect Assembly

Description:
The Ko-nect Device was invented to provide for a useful improvement of a boat winch strap in the loading of boats from the water back onto a boat trailer.

Instructions:
Remove the existing winch strap from your winch.
Install the short strap of the Model 2007 using the same mounting bolt and nut from the winch.
Note:  See the enclosed data sheet (included with purchase) for the correct positioning of the Ko-nect device after installation on the winch.

Current Method:
The Model 2007 is built to replace the traditional guide line as presently used and to provide a method of retrieving your boat without having to walk in the water or on wet trailer frames.
The procedure is reversed from the traditional method of releasing the spring bow hook, holding a guide line, then backing the trailer into the water to float the boat off the trailer. When your ready to retrieve your boat the winch strap is pulled out and connected to the eye on the bow of the boat and the boat is winched onto the trailer.

New Improved Method:
The winch strap is pulled off the winch and the Ko-nect device is dis-connected leaving the short strap attached to the winch. Leave the spring hook attached to the boat eye. The strap takes the place of the guide line previously used. Store the winch strap on the boat as you would your guide line.
The idea condition for retrieving your boat is to have the trailer boards submerged then pull the trailer a minimum amount out of the water leaving just enough room for a person to reach the winch without having to stand in the water. The long strap which is still connected to the boat is then used to rough position the boat in the trailer then the Ko-nect halves are connected and the boat is winched onto the trailer.
